Botox:

What is Botox:

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription-only medical product that contains tiny amounts of a highly purified botulinum toxin type A protein refined from the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum.

What does Botox do:

Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, which causes the wrinkles to relax and soften.

How Is a Botox Procedure Performed?

Getting Botox takes only a few minutes and no anesthesia is required. Botox is injected with a fine needle into specific muscles with only minor discomfort. It generally takes three to seven days to take full effect and it is best to avoid alcohol at least one week prior to treatment. Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications should be stopped two weeks before treatment as well in order to reduce bruising. Wrinkles caused by sun damage and gravity will not respond to Botox.

How long does the effect of Botox last:

When injected in the correct amounts into specific muscles is expected to last between three to ten months depending on the approved indication and on the individual patient.

Dermal Fillers:

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face.

As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent.

The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle.

Dermal fillers can be used to:

  • Plump thin lips

  • Enhance shallow contours

  • Soften facial creases and wrinkles

  • Improve the appearance of recessed scars

Dermal fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of ageing, or as a value-added part of facial rejuvenation surgery.

Injectable wrinkle fillers can give you a more youthful look for a fraction of what a traditional facelift costs. Most will fill lines and wrinkles in less than 30 minutes with results that can last from 4 months to more than a year.

Injectable wrinkle fillers, unlike Botox injections that relax the muscle under a wrinkle, fill the line, crease, or area with one of several different substances. As a result, trouble spots nearly disappear.

How long do the fillers take to work?

It's immediate, but it can take a few days to "settle into" it's final shape. It often looks even better after a day or two. Many patients are surprised at how much better they look right after their treatment.

Chemical Peels:

What is a chemical peel:

a process in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells.

Chemical peels can be done on the face, neck, or hands. They can be used to:

Areas of sun damage may improve after chemical peeling.

After a chemical peel, skin is temporarily more sensitive to the sun, so wear sunscreen every day. It should say "broad-spectrum" on the label, meaning it protects against the sun's UVA and UVB rays. Limit your time in the sun, especially between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and wear a wide-brimmed hat.

Who Is a Good Candidate For a Chemical Peel?

Generally, fair-skinned and light-haired patients are better candidates for chemical peels. If you have darker skin, you may also have good results, depending upon the type of problem being treated. But you also may be more likely to have an uneven skin tone after the procedure.

Skin sags, bulges, and more severe wrinkles do not respond well to chemical peels.

Meso needling:

Meso Needling is an advanced Skin Needling Treatment used to stimulate fast collagen production and renewal – resulting in smoother and more youthful looking skin. Meso Needling is the perfect treatment for a wide variety of skin conditions including acne scarring, stretch marks, fine lines, pigmentation, enlarged skin pores, blackheads and general skin scarring. Meso Needling can be combined with all other treatments i.e : chemical peels, botox and dermal fillers.

How does it work?

Meso Needling is easily performed using a sterile single-use medical roller and a unique biological action serum that stimulates fibroblasts and reactivates intercellular communication to restore and maintain the health of your skin. The single-use medical roller uses a series of microscopic needles that provide thousands of precision channels into the dermal layer of skin. These needles cause multiple, tiny micro-punctures in the dermis. These micro-punctures stimulate growth factors in the skin and the post traumatic response produces collagen and elastin- two of the key building blocks of our skin. As the structure of the skin is largely left intact, the skin heals quickly after a treatment, allowing you to resume your normal activities within 48 hours.
